Governor Hobbs Declares Blood Donation Week from Sept. 1-7
Vitalant offering donors a $20 gift card with code, T-shirt in time for Halloween
PHOENIX, Ariz. (September 1, 2026) — Sept. 1-7 is National Blood Donation Week, and Vitalant joins the call to encourage people to donate blood and save lives this month. As part of the awareness efforts, Governor Hobbs has proclaimed Arizona Blood Donation Week on Sept. 1-7.
Vitalant is offering a special thank you to donors for answering the call. Those who are opted in to Vitalant Donor Rewards and use code LABORDAY-2026-V when scheduling their donation appointment between Sept. 1-10 will receive a $20 Vitalant gift card plus a glow-in-the-dark T-shirt in time for Halloween.
Donors of all blood types are vital to helping patients, especially those with the most-transfused type O. In an emergency, O-negative is what doctors reach for when there’s no time to determine a patient’s blood type, and O-positive is the next best alternative.
Review eligibility requirements and make an appointment to give: visit vitalant.org, download and use the Vitalant blood donor app or call 877-25-VITAL (877-258-4825).
